73 teeth is significantly a smaller gear than is intended for your model, and it will require a bigger pinion gear. 25-34 tooth
NOTE:
Traxxas recommends their motor not exceed 180 degrees Fahrenheit, and the speed control not exceed 160 degrees Fahrenheit Raised temperatures will shorten ESC and motor life span.
